The Criser Cancer Resource Center is seeking donations of books and DVDs for patients and their families to use during hospital stays. The center has a health-education library to help patients and families learn about cancer and other conditions, but also needs fiction and nonfiction materials for leisure reading and viewing. “Our main goal is to provide resources for patient and family education,” said Lauren Arce, R.N., the center’s resource coordinator. “At the same time, we support the desire and need for moments of escape. A good book or movie can engage the mind and provide that much-needed break.” To donate, please drop your materials off at the center, which is located off the lobby of the Shands Cancer Hospital.
