In January, College of Pharmacy students took to the Hill — Capitol Hill in Tallahassee. Students accompanied pharmacists on at least 21 scheduled legislative visits with senators, representatives and staff members who are key to pharmacy-related legislation. In particular, students were involved in lobbying efforts to support three bills: HB509/SB850, allowing pharmacist immunizations for pneumonia and shingles; HB1093/SB1310, reforming pharmacy benefit manager audits; and HB1225/SB1602, reforming pharmacy benefit manager audits and mandatory mail order.
