A visit with the senator
In February, Sen. Bill Nelson visited UF to meet with Institute on Aging Director Marco Pahor, M.D. Nelson visited the institute as part if his new role as chairman of the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging. UF’s Institute on Aging is a recipient of the Claude D. Pepper Older Americans Independence Center Award and is a national leader in clinical translational research focused on the prevention of disability in aging adults. Pahor is the principal investigator of The LIFE Study, the largest long-term physical activity patient study to prevent major mobility disability in older adults.
