Almost ready
You’ve probably noticed some of the external changes happening to the UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital. There’s a lot going on inside, too … and by the end of the summer that progress will be revealed. When construction began on the new UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital lobby in early February, the people behind the plans starting seeing their concepts jump to life. These plans sought to evoke a calming atmosphere for UF Health’s youngest patients and their families. “Our youngest patients and their families will not have to walk through the adult hospitals to gain access to children’s services,” said Brad Pollitt, UF Health Shands facilities development vice president. Although much of the infrastructure is installed, crews are still working on lighting and decorative finishes as well as the exterior pavilion and storefront structure. A grand opening is expected late this summer. Keep up with the latest construction and renovation updates at blueprints.ufhealth.org.
