Elizabeth Ruszczyk named UF chief privacy officer
The University of Florida has named Elizabeth Ruszczyk, J.D., CIPP, C.H.C., CHRC, as the new universitywide chief privacy officer. Ruszczyk will hold this appointment along with her position as vice president for privacy and compliance at
UF Health.
The critical dual roles and reporting arrangement will help Ruszczyk facilitate greater collaboration and access to shared resources across UF and UF Health. With this centralized leadership model, her teams will coordinate activities and develop more consistent policies, procedures, training modules and tools tailored to the unique needs of their diverse internal audiences.
Ruszczyk brings extensive experience and expertise to this expanded compliance role. She joined UF Health Shands in 2001 as privacy officer, was promoted in 2010 to vice president and chief compliance and privacy officer and expanded her role in 2013 to vice president and chief privacy and compliance officer for all of UF Health. She received her bachelor’s degree in communication from Florida Atlantic University and her law degree from UF. — Kim Rose
