UF to host pilot summer enrichment program

University of Florida health colleges will be participating in a pilot program

The University of Florida health colleges will be participating in a pilot program, the Summer Health Professions Education Program, which combines academic enrichment with clinical exposure and career development for students interested in the health professions. SHPEP, a national program funded by a $400,000 grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, plus in-kind contributions from each of the six colleges, aims to strengthen the academic proficiency and career development of students underrepresented in the health professions and prepare them for a successful application and matriculation to health professions schools. The free, six-week residential program will take place on the UF campus from May 22 through June 30, with on-campus room and board. Applications will be accepted until March 1.
