The soothing sounds of classical music soared through the UF Health Shands Hospital Atrium on March 7 as the UF Health Shands Arts in Medicine program hosted 40 members of The Florida Orchestra, who performed as part of the orchestra’s project to share symphonic music across the state.
After 26.2 hours on their feet, students at the University of Florida gave their biggest cheers at Dance Marathon’s closing ceremonies on March 26, when the leadership team revealed the final total of $2,724,324.19 to benefit UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital, the local Children’s Miracle Network hospital. Last year, DM at UF raised $2.4 million.
As part of Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, visitors and staff walked through a giant inflatable colon in the UF Health Shands Hospital Atrium in March to learn about the various stages of the disease and learn ways to prevent colon cancer, including new screening tests.
