The University of Florida has launched Gators Volunteer, a new way for faculty and staff at UF and UF Health to connect with charities in need of volunteers. Spend your time helping those with special needs, our schools, veterans, those in crisis, animals, children and more. Volunteer opportunities include helping out at programs at UF Health Shands, the UF College of Dentistry and ElderCare

UF College of Medicine’s gerontology program graduates first master’s students
Three students who comprised the inaugural class in the UF College of Medicine’s department of aging and geriatric research’s master’s degree program received their degrees in medical sciences with a concentration in gerontology earlier this year. The online program, launched in 2015, is meant to benefit those who work with or on behalf of the elderly, including mediators, attorneys, accountants, nurses, nursing home administrators and government officials.
UF College of Pharmacy leads nation with residency matches
An impressive 133 graduates of the UF College of Pharmacy matched into American Society of Health-System Pharmacists residency programs in 2017. The total ranks UF as the top pharmacy college in the country in placing students into highly competitive pharmacy residency positions. While most of the UF graduates will stay in Florida for their residencies, others will train at pharmacy programs in 15 other states and Washington, D.C.
