UFIT announces change for Wi-Fi network
University of Florida Information Technology is working with UF Health and UF Student Affairs to migrate wireless users to education roaming, or eduroam. This three-phase project was launched in January and is expected to take 18 months to complete.
Everyone who is not a patient or a visitor will be affected by this update. Patients and visitors of UF Health Shands can log on as a Shands guest to access Wi-Fi. This project will not affect the UF Guest wireless access.
Changing everyone’s wireless network default to eduroam means that all personal and university-owned devices using the UF wireless network will be automatically configured to work at eduroam institutions worldwide. This will make it easier for staff and students to collaborate across academic institutions for conferences and programs.
