UF Health ob /gyn program maintains accreditation

UF Health has maintained its accreditation as a Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology by the Surgical Review Corp. This accreditation means UF Health and its department of obstetrics and gynecology provide the highest quality of care to patients as determined by an independent, external process of evaluation.

To achieve accreditation, UF Health must meet nationally recognized standards through an extensive self-assessment and on-site inspection. This process includes physicians, nurses and administrators who are involved in the program.

The inspection is consultative and educational, presenting best practices to help an organization improve its care and services.

Student prescriptions get easier with new phone app

The University of Florida Student Health Care Center Pharmacy recently launched a mobile app for prescription refills. The pharmacy app provides a quick and easy way for patients to order prescription refills via a quick refill form or a secure login, which displays the patient’s prescription profile.

Patients are provided real-time information on each of their prescriptions (i.e., refillable, no refills, expired, etc.) and can even request the pharmacy contact the prescriber to authorize additional refills when required.

The app also provides the pharmacy address, operating hours, upcoming holidays, directions, social media and contact information. The app is available for Android and Apple devices and instantly connects you with the SHCC pharmacy for quick and easy prescription refills.

To download the app, enter “UF Student Health Pharmacy” in your app store’s search bar. Once the app is downloaded, patients can navigate the home menu depending on their prescription needs.
