Surgical center lab receives award for excellence

The UF Health Florida Surgical Center has received the COLA Laboratory Excellence Award as a result of its recent lab survey. This award is granted to laboratories that are found to be fully compliant with all required criteria at the time of the on-site survey. Award recipients must have demonstrated
successful proficiency testing for the prior three testing events and have no substantiated complaints.

COLA is a nonprofit, physician-directed organization promoting quality and excellence in medicine and patient care through programs of voluntary education,
achievement and accreditation. COLA is approved by the federal government and sponsored by the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Medical Association and the American College of Physicians.

This is the second consecutive survey cycle where the UF Health Florida Surgical Center laboratory has earned this distinction.
