Walk for breast cancer

A woman’s chance of developing breast cancer in her lifetime is a little less than one in eight. The American Cancer Society’s annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk aims to help in the fight against this devastating disease by raising awareness and funding. The event, which is sponsored by UF&Shands, will be held at 9 a.m. Oct. 22 in downtown Gainesville. UF physicians Karen Daily, M.D., and Christiana Shaw, M.D., are the co-chairs.
